The Almagro International Classical Theatre Festival is a world-renowned cultural event, and its 2023 edition promises to exceed all expectations. Over the course of almost a month – from the 29 from June to 23 from July of 2023 – The city of Almagro in La Mancha becomes the epicentre of classical theatre, bringing together the best companies and actors on the contemporary theatre scene with productions based on texts from the Spanish Golden Age.
This festival is not only dedicated to the performance of Renaissance and Baroque works, but also offers a wide range of cultural activities complementary activities such as workshops, conferences, international meetings and other educational activities that seek to deepen theatrical culture. During its duration, Almagro is transformed into a large stage, with performances in emblematic places such as the Corral de Comedias, the Plaza Mayor or the Old Renaissance University.

As the festival draws to a close, performances are reaching their peak. Some of the most anticipated and most of the tickets have already been sold include:

In addition, it highlights the female perspective that the festival will adopt during this edition, highlighting the work of historical authors such as Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, María de Zayas and Ana Caro de Mallén.
